Neurological Surgery

While going through one of the worst times of my life, I was truly blessed to be taken care of by the wonderful medical team at Weill Cornell's Neurological Surgery Department. It was amazing knowing that all I had to worry about was resting, healing, and getting well. The room itself left nothing to be desired- I was placed in a large, private room with a peaceful view of the water and neighboring buildings. Staff had wonderful bedside manner, which helped to make my time away from home feel more manageable. Head nurse AJ was all around amazing, as he seemed to really care about how I was doing as a person. The attending Surgeons here are good but the clerical staff needs HELP. Better training needed maybe? They run late with processing FMLA paper work, I had to approach the front desk a week after hand submitting my FMLA forms b/c they had not been completed and couldn’t be found. Turns out they were still at the Front Desk because the staff couldn’t be bothered to walk it back to the nurse. Never forget your rights as a patient with this place, if you do they will try and take advantage of you.

When it comes to writing about New York Presbyterian Hospital, you can believe that (" Amazing things are happening here " ), We are talking about one of the top five hospital's in N.Y.C., and in the country. The professionalism of their employees, compassion, and dedication is amazing. Everyone from the parking attendants, security, greeters, food svc, and the entire medical teams are on the same page. Highly Recommend!

Of course it is modern and clean, but the prime feature that impacted me was the staff. 100% of the people we interacted with were friendly, highly professional and went out of their way to make everyone within their facility feel respected. It was not at all a bureaucratic maze like others I've visited. All the people who work their seem to display pride in their jobs which is something desperately missing in much of our modern society.

I was treated like royalty. This is the fifth best hospital in the United States. The surgeons doctors and nurses were superb. I had my own bed.
