Nesbit Living & Recovery Center

I was met at the door by Shawn Dunahoo, the Marketing Director, and he was an absolute pleasure! Everything is clean and smalls good, and was beautifully decorated. Thank you Shawn for such a great intro into who y’all are at AVIR!

I had an amazing tour with Shawn last week. The staff were very friendly and introduced themselves to me as we walked down the halls. All the residents seemed happy and well taken care of. I had lots of questions and everyone of them were answered. Katrina I believe the director came in and went over some of the medical questions regarding my father.

My family put my Mom in Nesbit back in April of 2022 due to her dementia. She was there for 2 and a half years before she passed September 2024. It was a hard decision. but I knew she was in good hands!! Brenda. Sean, the nurses, CNA's and staff were wonderful!! They took very good care of her!! My Dad would visit her 2 times a day and they always made him feel welcome and like family. Myself, my brother and my sister were also treated like family. Everyone there was so warm and upbeat. They would stop to visit with us and give us hugs. Brenda and the nurses always kept us updated on her progress and when she needed to go to pureed foods and when she needed to be put on Hospice. My mom has been here for two years. The staff are very helpful to work with. Admission is great ,nursing staff I could not ask for better care. My mon has Dementia and lives in the memory care unit . The nursing staff makes it so easy for her daily living by been caring and compassionate giving her the attention she needs they are like another family for her. The nursing staff and Admission staff Sean and Brenda are in constant communication with family members. I know mom is in great hands.

The office manager really takes the time to explain the Medicad pending process to new applicants. Definitely recommend working with her instead of trying to do go through the process on your own. Thanks for all your help!
