I had a wonderful experience at Nemours. My ultrasound tech, Kim, was absolutely lovely. She had such a calming energy and explained everything she was doing throughout the scan. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time and was just genuinely so sweet. After the fetal echo, I met with Dr. Weil Chalker to review the results, and she was incredible. Her bedside manner immediately made me feel confident in her as a physician. She took her time going through my prior medical history and thoughtfully explained what the future would look like in terms of care and next steps. You can tell she is not only highly educated, but also truly passionate about children and their well-being. I like that she is certified in pediatrics as well as cardiology. They overcharged me. The girl said out loud to me “why does it want to charge you $75 if you’re a Jefferson employee. The other girl who works there told her to change it to the correct $45 amount. She never did. So now I have to wait to be reimbursed
They tell you to arrive 15 mins early, so we arrived for 7:45. We were the first and only patient here, staff were busy eating breakfast and catching up. When asked at 8:10 if they knew when I would be taken back for my scan, the receptionist stated, 'she didn't know'. I had to ask twice for an update but she was busy eating her bagel and moaning to staff members that her PTO hadn't been acknowledged. Staff are rude and unprofessional. When finally taken back by the sonographer Artura Cain, I asked why they were running behind. She stated that she takes patients back at 8:15, which is 15mins past our appointment time. It took me a couple of days to gather what I wanted to say. The front desk rep and ultrasound tech were great. Medical assistant was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had!! She kept trying to tell me that my daughter is not cooperating, she’s very fidgety and I heard her tell a co worker in the other room that my child is “wild” She didn’t even know how to take her blood pressure, pulse ox she was just worried about my child’s behavior. Then there was another lady I couldn’t even catch her name, she came into the room when we were doing the ultra sound. She kept saying she can’t understand what my daughter is saying and she had no sympathy towards my daughter’s feelings. While I had a decent experience with my fetal echocardiogram and the consult that followed, I have issues with the amount of times I’m being contacted to write a review. In the appointment, they found that my baby has two tiny VSDs (holes in his ventricle walls). While the doctor reassured me that they were tiny, in the muscle so when the muscle contracted it closed the holes, wouldn’t require surgery, etc. While I’m processing this information, my doctor mentions that I’ll be contacted to write feedback about my experience with her. I was just told that my baby has holes in his heart. I’m comprehending this information. It might not be the best time to ask me for a review. I understand what I was told is super common and she repetitively told me that she wasn’t concerned, it’s still jarri
