MSKCC - Haupt Entrance

My wife was admitted here for thyroid cancer surgery In August 2019. Her surgery went so so as she had problems after the surgery. She remained in hospital for two weeks trying to heal. Then on Sept.1, 2019 I received an early morning phone call stating that they found her on the floor unconscious, bleeding from the area of the surgery. At this point she bled out. Their attempt to revive her were unsuccessful so they rushed her into the operating room. This also was unsuccessful and they pronounced her dead. She was not supposed to be out of bed by herself.Still no explanation as to why this was allowed to happen. She was unable to speak more than a whisper so I believe that when she attempted to call for help the person at the desk could not hear her but from what I can determine they did

MSKCC work very hard and assist you in what ever you need. The Staff are very friendly, courteous, helpful, caring and always smiling, which keeps you calm. The Nurse Staff are the Best, they will assist you and get you what ever you need. My main thing about MSKCC is when ALL the Staff looks at you even when they are walking passed you they say hi with a smile, which gives all the patients HOPE and I/we appreciate that from the Staff.
