Mount Sinai Pediatric Associates Practice

We've had decent medical care from the providers. Some are better than others, of course, and there are always residents that have to consult with attending physicians. My problem is that I've been calling for about three months to schedule a physical appointment and every time I call they tell me they have not released a schedule for the doctors and I have to call back. They say there are no appointments available at all. Now I can't get him into a Summer camp because they won't accept him without a physical.

The doctors themselves are fine. Wait times in the office are not too bad. The rest is just frustrating. Takes forever to get an appointment, could be related to life in a pandemic? Who knows, maybe? But getting an appointment in NYC is just crazy compared to other states. Then getting any health forms take 7-10 days! That can be hard if you need to submit things for school/camps. When I had no insurance and went to a local health clinic, I could get forms the same day! (Shout-out to Settlement Health, don’t know how they are now). Beyond frustrating!

Our first visit was so bad with a bad student who didn’t even touch my new born! We asked for another doc which was as an atten we liked her so much but she left the clinic. Some of the doc were good others are just students who luck experience. My son has to see a different doctor which mostly are students, that makes him frustrated and never used to their clinic by seeing different staff each time. Whenever I like a doctor they say we don’t have available appointments! Also I never get to talk to his doctors by phone each time I leave a message they say the doctor or nurse will call you back they Don’t! Never find them in an emergency. I used to love this place but, this place has gotten horrible. The wait has turn ridiculously long and when requesting a physical form they give it without a stamp which is the same as not providing one. Another thing that even when bringing it to the doctor attention that on your last visit you receive the form without the stamp and that you need a new one with a stamp and you constantly repeat it that you need it. I found myself waiting and waiting until I decided to talk to the nurse and tell them that I’m waiting for the medical form just to find out that the doctor didn’t know I wanted one which brought more frustration an hour later is when I finally receive the form. The front desk lady was very helpful but this place has turn into a mess. I highly do not recommend.

Making an appointment is a process only the most patient will survive, every time you call a different department will answer the phone, take a message and no one will call back. Getting any documentation requires a snail mail application. My insurance information was mixed up and I was assigned a doctor out of network, for which I kept receiving unreasonable bills. Doctors are nice when you finally get to see them but everything else about this practice just screams they don't care about their patients.
