Mount Sinai Doctors - East 85th Street

The dermatology dept at mt Sinai has restored some of my faith in modern medicine. Dr Dubin, Tumi and Laurie have shown me warm bedside manner and gentle care, all while staying professional. For cosmetic procedures or other outpatient needs, they set a high bar. I dont have to ask for help more than once. questions are answered and phone calls are returned. When they are with me, they are focused on me. I appreciate anyone in medicine wanting to offer the best experience possible and following through in every way. It almost never happens. Thank you

This was an ophthalmology appointment with Dr. Gupta. I arrived at 1:35 PM for my scheduled appointment and waited until 3:55 PM before leaving. During that entire time, there was no proactive communication or transparency from staff. I overheard multiple explanations for the delay (technical issues, short staffing, scheduling), but no one provided a clear update or realistic timeframe. Only after I left the office did I receive a call asking if I was still in the building, which highlighted the lack of communication while I was waiting. After leaving, my visit was documented simply as “left without being seen,” with no context about the extended wait or lack of updates. The staff in this location are quite rude! They scheduled me two appointments: one is 11:30am with a nurse and 12:40pm with my doctor. By the time I arrived around 10:25am, I am told that I can’t have two appointments on the same day! They have to cancel one and asked me to either wait or reschedule the other one! The staff is so rude and so impatient! They don’t look at you in the eye when they talk to you! The service at this location horrible and is the worst at Mount Sinai!

This clinic has improved its service. A few years ago I came to my appointment and a particular receptionist rescheduled me for another appointment. Mind you this was not the first time that she did this, even though I came through a snow storm. Also I should be seen and attended to when my appointment time arrives!

Dr Allison Chan should be avoided if you value your life. I have the very rare autoimmune disease which she knows she has bogus information and hasn't taken any time to find out about it. I currently am bed ridden with extreme fatigue and and the many symptoms such as neuropathy on eyes and lower legs and soles of my feet. I have trouble with good and if i have food with carbonate the neuropathy gets worse Dr Chan referred me to an agency that comes to your apartment. I researched it and it had so many bad reviews.
