Montclair Hospital Medical Center: Emergency Room

Wish I could give zero stars. HIPPA violations left and right in this place. They will give you your diagnosis and test results in the waiting area for everyone to hear. The bedside manners are nonexistent. immediately I could tell I was in a place that did not care about their patients (constant eye rolls from the staff to the elderly and people in pain). The nurses were rude. The doctor was extremely rude. If you want to go in and experience the worst medical experience of your life I welcome you to this hospital. I thought Pomona Valley was bad but nope Montclair takes the cake and some.

Went to the ER for very upset stomach and severe headache. The ER team was superb. Then the next shift came, asked questions all over again. They decided to admit me as my heart rate was high. They gave me a total of 6 saline bags! The next day they said that I could be discharged soon but then the doctor asked if I’d mind staying for another night. He also wanted to consult a cardiologist. (My heart rate was much better by now). I highly believe they just kept on giving me saline to keep me there ((and the cardiologist would show up at like 7/8 pm). So that they can bill insurance more. I signed an AMA and left.

Receptionist didn’t acknowledge me at all and I stood at the counter for 5 minutes before I said something to her. She prompted me to sign in on this stupid IPad and I waited 40 minutes just got her to tell me they don’t accept my medical services. I went to another urgent care and they said I have to go an emergency room for my issue but when I look up emergency rooms near me this location pops up. I don’t know it googles information is wrong or the receptionist but either way this place sucks

I personally had a decent experience. What is making me give this place 1 star is the nasty, ugly attitude of one of the front desk workers that does check in. On July 28th, around 1pm, a man came into the ER for a headache. He did not speak any English so he was speaking Spanish to the crusty worker. Her response? She gave him a nasty attitude in English and didn't even bother to get him a translator. She was being loud and rude and obnoxious to him. Later on, he was called in and since I was sitting near the entrance, I heard Dr. Liu talking to him in SPANISH. If the doctors make the effort to learn different languages in order to better diagnose their patients, then the same standard should be upheld towards front desk workers. I swear, that front desk worker was acting like she was bet

Wish I could put no stars, Poor service I spoke to reception requesting a translator for my mom since she doesn’t speak English and she told me she can ask someone for a translator I asked her how in the world Will she do that when she doesn’t speak English doesn’t make sense then rudely said why can’t you text her I replied because she has no service in this facility then continued be rude and said I’ll have someone to go translate for her like why couldn’t you just do or say that in the first place!
