Modern Village Midwifery

After 2 hospital births, I chose to go with Modern Village for my 3rd. Their care during pregnancy was far more intentional than the care I received from my OB. They provide very helpful remedies for the discomforts of pregnancy, and each appointment they create space for you to ask anything you need. I had gestational diabetes for the first time, and they were so knowledgeable & encouraging in helping me manage that. I delivered my baby a couple weeks ago at home and the experience far exceeded my expectations! Both Sarah & Elizabeth brought a peaceful presence to my birth, while also ensuring me and baby were safe and healthy. So happy I chose them this time around! I know I'm a bit biased because I’m also a midwife at Modern Village. But speaking as a mom, I loved my care here. Sarah was so patient and understanding with all my anxiety surrounding my own pregnancy after having an early miscarriage previously. It can be hard to “midwife a midwife”, but she did a wonderful job. My homebirth was so empowering and I wouldn’t trade that experience for the world. 🫶🏼

I had a wonderful experience with all four midwives. My baby’s birth is something I look back on with immense joy. I hope to have another home-birth with them in the future. The quality of prenatal and postpartum care is beyond anything a woman could wish for. My older kids were able to join me for every appointment, there are toys for them to play with, plus they have an accommodating schedule.

I have had 3 births, but my first unmedicated home birth was with Modern Village a few months ago, and what a difference in the quality of care it has been. I loved that they are knowledgeable about more than just basic pregnancy needs, but also nutrition and beyond. They ask about emotional health, nutrition, and activity, but when I wasn’t doing my best, they never made me feel bad about it but encouraged me and gave advice. There is plenty of time built into appointments to answer any questions. I like that both Elizabeth and Sarah were there at my birth. Having more than one just gives me a little extra peace of mind.
