Merit Health Rankin - Emergency Room

I would give this 0 stars if I could. The nurse, Lacey, was EXTREMELY rude. She asked very few questions and only came in and did bare minimum in terms of patient care. She had no empathy or compassion in her care. I’m raised by a nurse and I know this is not how patients should be treated. Dr. Cox did not do any kind of examination for the severe yeast infection I came in with. There was no care except let’s get you some pain meds and call your OBGYN. I explained I had not been able to get in with her, had been to a PCP and still had not gotten better. This was going on 10 days with this problem and multiple rounds of medicine. I was in serious pain and raw from stem to sternum. It was not a busy morning, so I can’t blame it on their being busy and my case not being as urgent. I’ve truly

April & Kecia are top notch nurses. They along with Dr Bell; were absolutely wonderful. Each of them treated me with kindness & compassion. I couldn’t have asked for better care. Radiology was top notch too! The only thing I would recommend is the check in process. When I arrived, the sign in sheet was sitting in the window, facing towards me; and the previous patients information was all “right there” I literally had access to their name and personal information. Definitely a HIPPA violation. Also, the receptionist asked for my DL and insurance card; and kept those until I was almost finished in the room with the doctor in the back, when she brought them to me. They were quick to check me over. Good listeners and explored all possible scenarios to try to solve the mystery of what was going on. Everyone was gracious, caring and compassionate. They did not dismiss my discomfort. It was the night before Thanksgiving. They put my comfort first and not their personal sacrifice of not being home. I am thankful I found their ER!!! God Bless!

Everyone was nice & showed concern except for 1 lady that wouldn’t listen at check in My husband fell & had to be brought by ambulance Im his 24/7 caretaker He’s like a child due to Alzheimer’s & dementia & needs me with him at all times I got there when the ambulance did but after about 25-30 min another lady checked us in & got my information After then the staff was awesome & caring ! We had only used St Dominic’s for over 25 years until 3 ER visits with new policy & they wouldn’t let me or his daughters go back with him We have only used Baptist for him in last few years Due to UMC’s issues Baptist had a line of ambulances down State St & we came to your ER I have to say no better nursing or Dr care could have been possible anywhere Thank you all for being doing attentive to his unique

We had a great experience here with my elderly father. He had some dizziness and wasn’t feeling well at all. As soon as we checked in, we were only there for about 5 minutes and were called back. Everyone was so nice and helpful! The nurses and doctor were very thorough. They determined he was dehydrated and also needed an antibiotic. No one likes to go to the ER, but this experience was the best we’ve ever had. Thank you to everyone that made our experience a good one!
