Mercy Medical Center - Emergency Department

This hospital is beyond careless. The staff barely communicates, they were not attentive at all, and they failed to tell us what was really happening. We were not told how serious things were until another nurse finally came in and told us everything clearly after I had already spent 8 hours being given misleading information. That nurse was the only person in the intensive care unit who actually had a heart and took the time to explain what was really going on. She did so much more than what the doctor could not even do. It is obvious that patient care and family updates mean nothing here. They show no empathy. I would never trust this place with anyone I care about.

I came here today because I was in pain. They admitted me and asked me to wait until a room was available. I waited for 5-6 hours. I came here because I was in pain. I could have waited at home. I came with the intention that the doctor would know more than me. But unfortunately, I am in severe pain and this doctor is not interested.

I walked in having chest pain THE receptionist at the emergency department was so rude and so unconcerned I’m a nurse so I know that when someone says they have chest pains in which I did after having been throwing up for days and my fingers going numb and The curly head gentleman who was behind the window was very no compassion no care. He just watched me. I asked for my things back and I walked outside. Collapsed in the parking lot and no one even came out to help me. No one even asked if I was OK. NEVER AGAIN I WILL DIE FIRST, FELT THEY WOULD HAVE KILLED ME ANYWAY!

Nurses are so nice and very helpful including the doctors they make you feel very special. Thank you and God bless the team!

We came here because we were out of town for a soccer tournament. They were wonderful with my six-year-old daughter, who had a severe ear infection. They were able to see us right away, diagnose the issue and get us medicine quickly. Very nice and knowledgeable staff, clean facility, I would highly recommend.
