Memorial Sloan Kettering Patient Urgent Care Center

This place is a nightmare. Staff is caring and competent, but the facility it horribly managed. Patients lined up on gurneys in the hallways because treatment areas aren’t available. Staff are doing procedures in the waiting rooms. Bathrooms aren’t cleaned. Trash cans are overflowing. Patients are in the urgent care for 72 hours or longer because beds aren’t available in the hospital. Patients who are contagious and are supposed to be in isolation use the same bathrooms as other patients, putting everyone at risk for infection. Memorial Sloan Kettering should be ashamed of themselves.

The worst. Do yourself a favor and do not go here for urgent care. At this point they are just trading on their name. Arrogance. Not living up their reputation. Wish I could give it a zero. This place is run by NPs and PAs. They don’t know what they’re doing. Ordered wrong tests and gave wrong info. Said “care team” is looking at it. Who is the care team?! Never met them. And no one with any credentials came and explained anything. And the doctors (who you never get to see or talk too ) don’t seem to care. Read the reviews and believe them. They are all accurate. And the hospital administrators don’t seem to care either. The level of care and attention to detail is poor. This is a major lawsuit waiting to happen.

My wife has been here for a week due becuz her scheduled blood work labs came back showing low hemoglobin... the first night she got here, she was stuck in urgent care for an entire night becuz they said they had no beds available for her... on a Tuesday... also, the doctor in urgent care said she could continue to take her chemo meds, but not her blood sugar pills for her pre-diabetic condition, or her beta blocker. Then after one day they finally got a room for her, at which point they took away her chemo meds, marking the first time she missed taking them since she was prescribed them 9 months prior. They also said it was 'ill-advised' that the urgent care doc alowed her to continue taking them. Then they kept her here for a whole week saying the reason was becuz her creatinine was too

Hands down the kindest, most patient and understanding staff members. From specialist MDs to parking attendants-so comforting to know they are there!

For MSK being the best cancer center they truly need to review their procedures. Horrible service. Hours to get procedures done. They even put in your iv in the waiting area. They are just horrible. Who is running this center? If I could give less than 1 star I would. Waiting hours, nurses talking to you in the waiting area while everyone hears your business. Is this not a HIPPA violation? They also need to review their policies. They have Jersey locations but you are limited to what you can have done.
