MedStar Health Urgent Care in Great Mills

I visited MedStar Health: Urgent Care in Great Mills today. The staff at the front desk and nurses were very friendly and helpful, and the facility was clean. The wait time wasn’t too bad. However, I was disappointed with my experience with the doctor. Their bedside manner was poor, and they didn’t go over my test results. I requested a flu test and was told no, with instructions to “go to the ER now,” without much explanation. My time in the exam room was very brief, less than 5 minutes, and I left feeling confused and unsupported. I hope the clinic can improve the communication and patient experience with providers.

I scheduled an appointment at the Great Mills Medstar Urgent care location since the California MedStar didn’t have any openings. When I arrived everything was handled smoothly and quickly by the receptionist who was kind and even remembered my young son from his last visit at the California location over a month ago! The PA Andrea Campbell was superb and made sure I was taken care of - X-rays, breathing treatment (I’m asthmatic), prednisone on the spot because she examined me and noticed I sounded tight (one day dosage for authentic patients that last for two or three days). Also, the other nurses were so sweet and assisted with the breathing meter and breathing treatment. She gave me a copy of my X-ray and was positive, suggested I take a nebulizer home (it was no cost because I’m asthm

No gatekeeping this amazing urgent care and its staff! They deserve the recognition as this urgent care exceeded every expectation. From the moment I walked in, Newell at the front desk was so friendly and helpful with check-in that it genuinely made my day before I was even seen! Such a warm first impression when you’re not feeling well. Mandy and Danielle were incredibly kind and compassionate, so much so that I almost forgot where I was and why I was there. Their calm, reassuring energy made an uncomfortable situation feel manageable. Andrea Campbell was outstanding! Thorough, efficient, and clear in delivering my results. It was excellent service. The doctor or nurse practitioner got to the point. Very clean facility. They did a better job than the emergency room department in leonardtown would do. They were right on the point and I felt comfortable and I was glad to get help and get service cuz I felt miserable when I walked in. I got my medicine and well prescription. Very well place. They really care about my problems and needs. Thank you for being there. Lot better than the emergency room department.

Probably the best urgent care experience I’ve ever had. Natasha, Paris, and Amanda were ABOVE AND BEYOND, as did the nurse receptionist (whose name I didn’t get). They listened intently to my symptoms, waited patiently for me to explain, and were incredibly kind. I will be going back to them the next time I need to go to an urgent care. Despite being understaffed, they were quick to triage and get the provider (Dr. Amanda) back to see me (though I’m sure they’d appreciate additional staff), they were efficient, apologetic for any wait times (my whole appointment took less than an hour from arrival to departure), and their bedside manner was top notch. Highly recommend all of them!!
