MedStar Health: Urgent Care in Charlotte Hall

We had such a wonderful experience at Charlotte Hall Urgent Care today. My daughter tested positive for Flu A, and to make things extra chaotic, she got sick and vomited all over herself in the car on the way there. I had no extra clothes (mom fail 😅), so I wrapped her in a towel and carried her in to be seen. Check-in was quick and smooth, which I appreciated so much in that moment. We were brought back promptly for her temperature, oxygen check, and all the swabs. The medical assistant, Paris, was incredibly kind and gentle... truly the sweetest. She noticed my daughter was undressed and kindly asked if it was because of the fever. When I explained what had happened, she didn’t make me feel embarrassed at all. Walk in appointment before the snow/ice storm. Total appointment time 3 hours. Filling paperwork via text was fast, easy and efficient. Staff and Dr. were very pleasant and polite. Listened to me about my concerns. Clean location and office. Satisfied with everything. Wish the Dr. would have explained a little more about her diagnosis and all causes, and possible options for better health than just meds. and physical therapy which were much appreciated, but there must be more steps to take for better health like insuring proper daily hydration, proper food choices and amounts for proper weight management and longevity. I guess since this is an urgent care facility, their main focus is to get you in and resolve an immediate issue and get you out as quickly as possible. I am very gratef

This urgent care is clean and the staff was really friendly. Getting signed up for an appointment was super easy. The only reason I’m giving it 3 stars is because the doctor that saw us barely spent 5 minutes with us. She looked at my son’s ear and just prescribed drops. She seemed like she couldn’t care less about actually finding out what was wrong. The drops didn’t work so I got him in to our normal clinic and it wasn’t even an infection, it was fluid in his ear caused by sinus buildup. Maybe if the doctor at this urgent care would have actually talked to us and asked questions, we could have resolved the issue then.

I have always been pleased with my physician. Not today. She was there maybe 4-5 min. Only water me to address 1 issue of virus/cold. Said I had wax in one ear and could not see eardrum...but did not attempt or advise removal. The cna said oh everyone has wax. I may go back but will ask if she's there.

I took my two year-old son in today and they tested him for RSV Covid and flu.Thank God he was negative for pneumonia as well. The doctor was excellent and I don’t think I’ve had a better doctor there. The nurse was excellent. The staff at the front desk was excellent. Top employees were there today. I could absolutely tell that the wait time was about an hour or so.
