MedStar Health: Urgent Care at Catonsville

I visited the Catonsville location on Saturday, August 9, 2025 for my son. He had an allergic reaction to a mosquito bite on his eye. He’s an 1 year old boy so he was being his busy little self while I was trying to fill out the documents/paperwork online. Unfortunately, he wouldn’t sit still and wanted to run around. So I asked if I could fill out physical paperwork due to my phone kept timing out and trying to hold on to him and chase him around. She said “Unfortunately, no. I’m sorry.” but she held him for me while I did it. She was very kind and patient. Everyone was. The experience I had today was much better than the last time I was there. People were much friendlier, and informative. The NP/ PA Evelyn was very nice, through and articulate. She made sure everything was understood before discharging me. The only issue I came across was the person working the desk was on break when I went to leave, and no one else could/would take my payment for my hand splint.

My appointment was 8:20 a.m. Warren at the front desk was absolutely patient delightful from the time I arrived until I left. I had to complete a bit more paperwork (verification process) upon arrival so I got to triage roughly 840 a.m. I waited about 30ish minutes for my Flu, COVID and Strep results before the PA came to see me. I was discharged roughly 9:43 a.m. Overall, my experience was good and all of the staff was professional and kind.

I resisted going to the MedStar Urgent Care at Catonsville because of the very unpleasant experience I suffered during a visit there last year. However, I was in tremendous pain and my regular doctor's office was not helpful so I decided to give this location another try. This visit was wonderful! Everyone was pleasant, greeting, engaging, attentive, caring and professional! I was given clear communication, instructions and time estimates throughout my visit. I was given timely updates on everything. I was in and out in great time. My prescription was sent to my pharmacy and I was on my way to feeling better. Even as I was leaving, the gentleman who checked me in bid my farewell using me name! I have seldom had such a wonderful experience. They exceeded my expectations by a moon shot. This

I scheduled a reservation for 4:20pm. Upon arrival, the man working the front desk (Warren) quickly let me know he still needed paperwork completed. He set me to work doing that almost immediately. The wait was quite long (I had my vitals checked 1 hour after my reservation) and had to wait about 45 minutes after that for test results and to be seen by a nurse practitioner. Everyone I worked with was fantastic and Warren's attitude and way of dealing with everyone at the front was great and made a long wait not seem so bad. NP who saw me was attentive and sympathetic and apologized for the long wait.
