Medilodge of Lansing

I have a loved one that was admitted here into rehab, upon visiting the facility I’m not sure how this nursing home passed any inspections. There were several violations and hazards I was instantly able to identify. The facility itself is ran down, the staff does not sanitize the dining area for patients nor the rooms. Several times I saw one of the head staff members rubbing her nose with her bare hands and then touching on patients and other areas of the facility. I saw only 1 nurse actually wear gloves while there and hardly anyone ever used hand sanitizer they just kept touching things and talking over the patients food etc. hand sanitizer should be placed at the front desk since there are visitors who have to come in and sign the guest book touching on the pens and same book by severa

My father is here on hospice. Staff have been very reassuring when I call for updates when I get anxious. Trevor and Carlos have been awesome.

My family member has been here for the past couple of weeks. He is a cancer patient, with dementia and other serious health issues, and was placed here primarily for medication administration. During his stay, he has been very confused due to his health conditions and dementia. I was shocked to receive a call from the staff telling me that he had been trying to leave and that, because he is an adult, he had the “right” to do so. They went so far as to say that if we did not come get him, they would leave him outside. To threaten to put a fragile, sick, elderly man, who does not understand what is happening, out on the street is beyond unacceptable. If I could rate this place a million zeros I would. The residents are a delight but management and coworkers are very rude and very high school. There are a bunch of overgrown adults who shouldn’t be in management positions working there and they will treat you so low because they are low themselves. This place is the definition of high school.

THIS PLACE SHOULD NOT BE IN BUSINESS - IT SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN! These are the things I personally observed while visiting my mom in November 2023: She had a wheelchair with wheels that didn’t lock; I asked that she get a new one on 11/7, still didn’t have one that locks on 11/9 or 11/12 Ziplock bags were being used as ice packs and were leaking all over Gown on floor on 11/7, apparently the floors were cleaned but the gown was not picked up, it was still there on 11/9 Bed linens partially changed on Friday 11/10 - that was the 1st time since she was admitted on 11/1 Finally offered a shower on 11/10 after she was given the okay to shower on 11/8 Lab results not being shared with us after asking numerous times (4-5 times) Increased dosage on thyroid medication without consulting with
