McDougalls Drug Center

This place went waaaaay down hill since the 80s 90s. We don’t go to the doctors but once every two years but the last couple times going here there has been issues “finding prescription info” (blue cross) you have to pay cash. Or the latest “we don’t like that HSA company” and “there is a glitch in our system” you have to pay cash…. Apologies if this is the norm everywhere these days but no longer going here just on basis it’s a local owned and operated establishment (I think) that I’m familiar with since early 80s. Costing me extra time and money. Reason for the review is I called in to complain for my non complaining wife and was told I’m barking at the wrong level and then was hung up on.

McDougalls has been my pharmacy for some years now. The big "W" down the street was my goto. After several issues, I gave McDougalls a try. Talk about a night and day difference. 100%, the best decision for my meds. The pharmacist is right there for any questions. The staff is always courteous and willing to assist. The "personal touch" you get from the time you enter is so refreshing. Seriously, you don't/won't get that from your chain pharmacies. The staff takes the time to know you and remember your name. Do yourself a huge favor and give them a try. You won't go back.

Love this place. Thank God there's a small town pharmacy in Eldersburg. Good job, wife, turning me on to this store. Prompt service staffed by good people. The pharmacist went out of her way to correct a problem when my insurance changed their name. I'll never go anywhere else. I cannot stand CVS or Walgreens (especially this one!) Those big store make you wait in very long lines, overcharge and customer service sucks. I know that I sound like a Karen, but it's very true.

If you are looking for a true Mom & Pop pharmacy, this is it. Everyone here is very helpful and nice. I had to give them a hand written prescription and they filled it while I waited and we had some nice, fun conversation. I am a customer for life. Its the kind of service I remember as a kid that you can't get at the corporate owned pharmacies.

1000% better than places like CVS, Walmart, etc. Appreciate the kind folks that work there.
