Autumn Lake Healthcare at Birch Manor

My father was a resident at Birch Manor for 9 months, which included both short term care and long term care. During this time, my husband and I got to know the Second Floor Staff, from Administration to Housekeeping very well, and were very pleased with the care they provided Dad. They were always present to keep us informed of his daily condition, and were always attentive to his needs, as well as addressing any concerns/questions we had, in a timely and thoughtful manner. If his condition/medications changed in any way, we were notified either in person or via telephone calls. Dad was bedridden, and as a result he required extensive personal care. If I could give this place a negative rating I would. My wife has been telling them her concerns about my mother in law and she never gets a phone call back and even when visiting she had requested to speak to the nurse practitioner multiple times and we sat there for hours. But she gets a phone call last week stating her mom didn't eat that day and she had to yell and tell them to send her to the hospital. My mother in laws body had so many blood clots it was unbelievable. She was severely dehydrated and malnourished. My mother in law almost died in this people's hands. My wife have made multiple complaints now still haven't received a phone call. Also when she arrived at the hospital they didn't send her with any information about medications allergies or her medical problems. The nurse

We went on a tour of the facility for potential placement of our loved one. Right from the start, we could tell it was a warm and welcoming environment! The facility was well-maintained and the staff was very engaged with the current residents. We felt very confident that our love one would receive excellent supportive care. We talked with a few residents who assured us this was a great place and they loved being a part of the Community! The level of staffing, activities, meals, and cleanliness was top notch! We made our decision immediately to allow our love one to become a part of the Community!

Birch Manor really cares about their residents. Nursing facilities have a hard job caring for our loved ones , but at Birch Manor it’s home away from home.

This is the absolute worst facility ever. I would not send my goldfish here and they need very little to no care. The nursing staff is rude and useless. My loved one sat in feces for 1 hour and 15 minutes. It took the nurse 30 minutes to answer the call light. She said someone would be in when they were done with another patient. 45 minutes later someone came in to change her. The nurse acted like it was beneath her to change her patient. They didn’t give pain meds when asked for. The nurses were always sitting at the nurses station socializing. So there was no reason a patient couldn’t get assistance when needed.
