Customer Reviews
Trying to charge for things insurance very CLEARLY says they cannot bill the patient for. Office staff is rude and incredibly disorganized. Dr. Kurtz is an excellent oral surgeon however his insistance that he can go against his contract with his in-network insurance providers, is unethical and will lead to an investigation by the insurance provider.
Terrible billing practices. Dr. Kurtz's ego has no bounds and doesn't truly care. He threatens to send patients to collections over balances which insurance very clearly says the patient cannot be billed for. While there are a number of postive reviews, you need to rely upon the bad reviews to fully understand how badly (and unethical) this practice is run.
I highly recommend going elsewhere. This Dr believes he can go outside his contracted in-network rates and charge the patient directly (even after insurance says he can't do that). He then boasts about how good his staff is - when they are known as a joke and incompetent in other local offices. His staff is unresponsive, unsympathetic and don't know how to properly bill insurance. Terrible!
I want to preface this by saying my son had a great experience with this practice a few years ago. BUT, things seem to have changed. Our story: It took us several weeks to get an appointment for my daughter to get her wisdom teeth evaluated-(a referral from our general dentist). Her appointment was today at 9am. We arrived on time and ended up waiting in an exam room for a full hour, no one came in to talk to us… So at 10am, when my daughter realized she was going to be late for work, I went into the hallway looking for someone, and an assistant told me that the doctor had gone into surgery 20 minutes prior and it would be at least another 30-60 minuites until he was done. What? He started a surgery at 9:40 am when he had a person waiting for her consultation since 9am? Why would he st
I had a terrible experience. Poor approach of explaining (fast talks telling you vs asking if you agree to approach). When I elected to have tooth extracted and not have bone grafted and moving of my sinus, he became rude and treated me very badly. When my dentist recommended him for my sons wisdom teeth extraction - I said no way would I recommend or use this person ever again.
