Marietta Memorial Hospital: Emergency Room

Huge shout-out to Mr. Rick Stalnaker, NP, at the Belpre ER! My son needed staples in his head after an unfortunate injury, and his patience, empathy, and sense of humor made the whole experience so much easier. We are truly grateful for his care and the way he put both my son and our family at ease during a stressful time.

Emergency room doctor didn’t care abt me if i was in such bad pain, white pale, and sweaty. They just got results and sent me home too fast. When they sent me to lobby room, I was all clumsy and pain, the front desk didn’t check on me. I’m so mad.

Went into Marietta memorial because my right collarbone is lower and lots of shoulder and arm and neck pain after picking up a 200Ib man who passed out and hit his head (I'm a 113 IB woman who doesn't usually lift anything due to my heart) and the Dr lifted my shoulder crooked and just touched up my neck/shoulder and said "you're fine here's muscle relaxers now go home" I was there a total of 30 mins, no scans no nothing. She literally lifted my shoulder from how it naturally sits to crooked and called it straight and said I was fine. Idk why I ever go here this is the same hospital that said my son wasn't old enough to have strep when he had just turned a year and he did have strep. I will forever go to selby. Better doctors

This review will be a long one, on behalf of both me, and my boyfriend who was the patient. His part first: Very satisfied with the level of care. Every last nurse/doctor/etc was very sympathetic about his appendix removal. They all ensured it would be an easy fix. This was the 1st surgery of his life, and they were VERY comforting and set his mind at ease. Not only that, but they IMMEDIATELY attended to him any time he needed to unplug his IV, drinks, snacks, heat, ac, you name it. Now my review: Oh my lord. I was a complete mess because the love of my life would NOT stop throwing up. I was panicking, crying, looking horrible because I've NEVER dealt with something like this before. My visit was on 7/28/24. While the nurses were great, the doctors disappointed me. They only related to me 1of 2 diagnosis to me. I went to the ER because I was having diarrhea, I had a cat scan and they found nothing except watery matter. Through a urine specimen I was diagnosed with a UTI and that is what was related to me and printed on my discharge paper. Now, I continued to have diarrhea for weeks. I went to my primary care provider on September 20th about it, and she read to me what the doctors recorded in my chart, I had diverticulitis, I was very upset because I have been managing it since 2011 and hadn't had an episode for along time. It would have been nice to have known because you are supposed to eat a certain diet when you are healing from this infection of the bowels. Oh, The
