Machen Family Medicine: Dr. Shane Machen

My husband has been seeing the providers at Machen Family Practice for several years. He has had nothing but great care and feels like he is being listened to and important. Jean, who is one of the front desk receptionists is so pleasant and always kind and helpful. She got my mother and father in ASAP as their PCP retired and they needed to be seen. Overall, my husband’s experience and my parents experience in this office has been nothing but positive. We always refer our friends and family to this office, and they have never been disappointed as well!

I changed primary care physicians a couple of years ago because my PCP left the practice. A few people recommended Dr. Shane Machen, but one friend told me that both she and her father's experiences with him were NOT GOOD. Boy oh boy, do I wish I had listened when she warned me away from Dr. Machen. I am 65 years old and never in my life have I been treated so disrespectfully and rudely by a medical provider. To be fair, the first two appointments with him were fine. My husband's appointment with him was fine. But today's appointment was awful. I left very much shaken by his behavior, which was unprofessional and extremely rude at best, and borderline brutish at worst. I had my new patient appointment today with Chloe Seegmiller here today and I can confidently say this was my absolute favorite clinic and provider I have ever seen. Chloe was so personable and you can tell how much she loves seeing patients. She took her time to go over all my questions, and never once made me feel rushed or not heard. I know most people don’t look forward to going to the doctor, but I will thoroughly enjoy any future visits I have here. Highly recommend, especially Chloe if you are in search of a compassionate provider.

​Dr. Machen is the best doctor I've had in a long time. He's honest and straight forward with you about where your health is at and what needs improving. He genuinely listens to his patients, and you can tell he wants to be part of the solution. He doesn't talk down to you or makes you feel guilty or judged about your health. He's supportive, super clear, and just focused on getting you moving forward.

Andrea Gardner is incredibly kind and thorough. She listened carefully to my concerns and explained everything clearly, took time to answer my questions, and never made me feel rushed. Her professionalism and compassionate care truly stood out. Highly recommend Machen Family Medicine!
