I recently visited Lux Dental, as they are listed as a MassHealth provider. I have somewhat complex dental needs, so I was hoping to establish ongoing care. At my first appointment, the dentist examined me and then informed me that he would be leaving the practice in a couple of weeks. He said he preferred not to begin treatment since he would not be there to follow through and advised me to schedule an appointment with the owner, who practices there two days a week. I scheduled the recommended appointment and was asked to have my previous dental X-rays forwarded to the office, which I arranged. Visited the Lux dental, yesterday, a Sunday, for an emergency treatment my daughter needed. Everyone from Ysa, at the front desk, to Dr. Choi and Dr. Abdul and all other members of the staff were friendly, communicative and knowledgeable. Other clients/ patients expressed gratitude for their services at Lux dental. I highly recommend for the warmth and caring we experience at Lux , no less the the excellent and skilled treatment my daughter received while there. The Lux is indeed the Light of Dentistry. I arrived for what I understood to be an appointment for two fillings, only to be unexpectedly presented with a consent form for a tooth extraction. At no point prior to this visit was there any discussion indicating that removal of the tooth might be necessary. As someone who experiences significant dental anxiety, this abrupt change in treatment was deeply distressing. I had arranged childcare and prepared myself mentally for fillings, not an extraction. Instead of receiving reassurance or clarification, I left feeling shocked and unsettled, particularly as there appeared to be frustration that they couldent convince me to pull my tooth right then and there.

I’ve been seeing Dr. A for almost 10 years now or may be even more, can’t even remember and he’s truly the best dentist out there — professional, skilled, and caring. I honestly have nothing but good things to say about him. I completely trust him with my dental care. That said, the front desk situation has gotten out of control. The staff turnover is constant, and the level of professionalism keeps getting worse. Even when we specifically book to see Dr. A, they often call last minute to change the appointment — or worse, switch us to another doctor without even letting us know in advance. It’s unbelievable and incredibly frustrating. To make matters worse, I recently got a call from one of the front desk staff who was shockingly rude and even hung up on me. That was the final straw. I've been wait 6 months for someone to get back to me as to why my son's referral for braces was never submitted to our insurance. This has been the second referral that has been neglected to be submitted to insurance. When I called to inquire a update I was told the supervisor would get back to me. No one has responded to my inquiry and I have been calling for 6 months now. I was told by the receptionist that the orthodontist no longer works at that location and that they don't know what happened. This is Completely unprofessional and unethical. There seems to be some type of scam happening here, I have plans to report Lux Dental to the better business bureau.
