I've done two rounds of Tomatis listening training with Sue, and the results are subtle but powerful. I was focused on improving my singing ability and lessening my lifelong misophonia symptoms. I have made progress on both fronts: I am now able to access higher tones much more easily when singing, and my upper and middle ranges are much more integrated. I no longer feel like I have one low and one high voice; I have a single voice that can move between registers. My misophonia symptoms haven't abated completely but I have experienced a new level of remove from annoying/intrusive sound. Even while singing in a choir, I can block out people right next to me and their sound doesn't define my experience of performing (which had always been the case before now). Tomatis Listening Therapy with Listen for Change transformed the way that I communicate with myself. I used to always need to talk out loud, or with someone else when stressed to sort out my executive functioning needs due to Learning Disabilities and ADHD. Shortly after completing two rounds of Tomatis Listening Therapy, I realized that I could have clear, calm, and coherent dialogue with myself. This means that I have much clearer cognitive processing: I can make decisions, plan my day, problem solve, work through tough emotions, and process important thoughts with myself.
