If you are assigned here for a C&P exam, ASK TO GO ELSEWHERE! They do not care about you and will discourage you from filing your claim! The nurse practitioner, Diane is far from professional and will try to determine the approval/denial of your claim. Her job is to perform the exam and let claims make a decision, but she seems to have her job confused. She did not want to perform my exam from the moment I walked in. She told me to “do my own research” when I asked her to elaborate on something medical that she said. She obviously just didn’t know the answer. She also said that I have to be “proactive” & ask for certain tests to be done in order to get care from the VA. If anyone has been to the VA then you know that that is NOT how it works. I drove over 50 miles to LHI Durham for an exam. When I arrived about twenty minutes early, the lobby was dark. There was no personnel at the front desk. I waited about five minutes; no one came to the reception area, so I rang the bell. The receptionist took my temp. It was 97.2. She asked me a series of COVID-related questions to which I responded no exposure, no travel abroad, etc. She asked if I had a cold, to which I replied yes, then I was informed my appointment had to be rescheduled after I got COVID-19 TEST! What? For a common cold? Of course, I tested negative for COVID-19/Delta/Omicron!!! I called LHI customer service to inquire about canceling examinations for patients who had a cold. People are friendly and facility is nice but there is absolutely no signage at all at the office. It's suite 604, in building 600, and the sign outside specifically says "Kiron Clinical Sleep Lab" rather than LHI. They've been here for 6 months so I don't know why they still don't have a sign, but it makes it difficult to know when you've actually arrived. Also, and I know this is really a VA issue, but they really don't consult with you at all about scheduling, which is not cool. Why schedule an 8:30 am appointment for someone who lives on the far side of Raleigh and thus will have to spend 75 minutes in traffic? I could have come at 10 just as easily. Overall still easier than dealing with the actual VA, though.

Made an appointment two days ago to get my family tested at the mobile location at the health department location. We pulled up to a woman putting a closed sign up. She rudely told us they are closed because of rain. It wasn’t even raining hard and had a test done at that same spot months ago and it wasn’t canceled. When we told her about our appointment and the frustration she LAUGHED and went about her way. She also had no mask on or protection gear while talking to us. My husband put his mask on the approach her to ask about the closure and she had no intent on putting anything on. She continued being extremely rude and unsafe until we left. I will never trust a LHI location again or their employees

My experience at LHI was very positive. Ms. Zanzi was very patient and thorough. She listened to me and gave me sound advice. As I had already started looking at ways to get healthier she was able to confirm for me that I was going in the right direction. She gave my exam her full attention to detail. Thank you for caring.
