Dr. Kao is, for starters, brilliant, but, most importantly, he knows his limitations and works tirelessly to connect his patients with specialist when he recognizes the need for one. He thinks outside the box, and he doesn’t have a God complex. I have an extremely complex medical history that would scare most doctors away, but instead of dropping me or shooing me off to specialists every time I raise a concern, he PARTNERS with me to develop a plan of action. He and I have seen a couple of complex problems differently, and I’ve requested courses of treatment he didn’t initially agree with, but he allowed me to provide him with medical journals and studies that supported my requested approach, and he agreed to give it a try. Horrible experience with doctor, awful bedside manner. If you want to be insulted and given unsolicited life advice, this is the guy for you. Office staff is lovely.
