I met with Dr. Patel regarding my abnormal heart rhythm. Dr. Patel explained to me what my heart was doing and gave me three options, two involving medication, to correct the issue. Dr. Patel explained the corrective surgery I would undergo in lieu of medication. She explained the procedure in easy to understand terms and I felt at ease choosing the surgery option after our discussion. Dr. Patel was easy to deal with. She did not make me feel stressed or uncomfortable. I have a lot of confidence in her medical assessment and I will go into surgery with little anxiety.

Dr. Patel's advice to stop my medication resulted in an ER visit. I have a history of SVT and had a previous ablation for it. However, I told her I was still experiencing SVT and showed her evidence of this from my Apple Watch. She dismissed me, saying this is not a medical device, which I understood. However, she condescendingly told me I did not need ANY treatment and could stop my medication immediately. She told me "I would suggest following up with your PCP about anxiety." I took all of her advice and had, not one, but TWO SVT episodes in one morning and had to be converted back to normal rhythm by paramedics TWICE. Dr. Kavisha Patel provided me with a scrupulous, detailed diagnosis of the issues affecting and afflicting my heart and specifically its arrhythmias. She was thorough, kind, and professional and did not minimize discussing possible risks in procedures that potentially could benefit my heart. It was good to be in her company and hear her advice.

I'm doing well after my procedure performed by Dr. Patel. I just had my 3 month follow up with her and we discussed what the possibilities are for the future, as far as blood thinners or another type of procedure if I decide to move on from blood thinners. I am very grateful for her work.
