Kauai Urgent Care

Nothing worse than getting sick while on vacation. Ugh! But, the good news is that we were very impressed with the quality of care we received at this clinic. The clinic opens at 8:00. We were here at 7:45, and there was already a line of about six people ahead of us. By 8:30 my wife was called back to be seen. You can wait outside (or in your car) while waiting to be called back. They will phone you when they are ready to see you. Three ladies were taking admissions. Things move along pretty quick if you come early. By 9:00 they was no longer a line of patients waiting at the admissions windows. We were out of here by 9:40. Dr. Nicholas Leonard was her physician. I had an excellent experience at this clinic. The staff were warm, welcoming, and consistently cheerful throughout my visit. The doctor was highly knowledgeable, took the time to listen attentively to all of my concerns, and addressed each one thoroughly.

Went here twice for my significant other. First for antibiotics for a kidney infection, the second time for a what we strongly suspect is a C Diff infection from antibiotic use from the first visit. The doctor, Horn, dismissed the possibility of C Diff because she "wouldn't be able to walk", which is dangerously incorrect. He then prescribed cefdinir for the original kidney infection, which is about the single worst antibiotic to take when you have C-diff. The stool sample ordered from their associated hospital was refused and a re-test was requested. Unfortunately we have a 14 hour flight to catch, and we're not confident this provider. We're now in the very uncomfortable position of flying home and seeking care there.

Outstanding urgent care experience. Doctors and staff are wonderful. We came in late afternoon on a Thursday just before trying to catch our flight back to the mainland. My son’s ears had felt stuffy all week but he hadn’t felt “sick”. Concerned about the week-long congestion, we decided it warranted a doctor evaluation. Dr Elliott was kind, efficient and thoroughly competent, and was sensitive to our time and travel constraints. He diagnosed an acute bilateral ear infection and gave us a “no-fly” Dr letter that helped us re-book our flights home. We were walk in patients with a time sensitive issue and the whole team was compassionate and helpful. Highly recommend.

Horrible day sick as can be spent 4 hours there for nothing. Have not been able to get out of bed for 5 days. The antiquated test did not work. The physician in such a rush to get me out misdiagnosed just to put something on paper.. which he didn't even put.. nor addressed my main concerns.Gave me antibiotics that I don't even need! His rush to get me out of there would have cost me another week's work lost. I don't know about you but a week or two not working and most people are homeless.
