Joseph Maxwell Cleland Atlanta VA Medical Center I recently visited this center with a family member and was extremely impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the cleanliness of the entire facility. The level of respect and professional care shown was outstanding. I was very happy to see my family member, who has given over 20 years of service, treated so well.

The ER department took excellent care of me, yesterday on Valentine's Day. My nurse was super helpful, compassionate, nurturing, and concerned. My doctor was exceptional as well, he took his time to see what was going on(which I appreciate that because I wanted to feel better). I am glad that everyone was caring, concerned, and competent in their jobs. This is one of my best experiences that I have had at this location. I am grateful for the ER staff, May God Bless Them All.

As a recent retiree, I have heard all the stories about how terrible the VA is, and after my experience at another clinic didn’t start so well, I was thinking the stories must be true. I came here to get my medicines refilled as I have transitioned from active duty. The staff member in the pharmacy could not help me because the active duty system does not merge with the VA system, but she was very nice and explained what I needed to do. I got to the ER and was pleasantly surprised that multiple members of the staff were very nice and helpful! I was triaged very quickly and staff member told me to have a seat to wait until the right people could do what needed to be done. On August 02, I was admitted to the Atlanta VA medical center for two nights for a medical condition. I have been to this location on three separate occasions in the past few weeks and each time I am treated with respect and compassion. I am a combat veteran from the Persian Gulf War who came to the place that I not only wanted to be at , but needed to be at. To the entire Veterans Affairs Department- Thank you for serving your country. And thank you for assisting me through a very difficult situation. It is greatly appreciated.

Just take your loved one to Northside or Emory unless you want to run the risk of them becoming an invalid. Brought my Dad to ER abecause he was complaining about his hip and urgent care didn't want to treat him "because of his medical history." Hip turned out to be fine but they admitted him and kept him for almost 2 weeks because he had signs of dementia. He was able to walk before he came here, but at 76 years old they kept him laying in the bed 24 hrs a day, and the PT/OT that spent no more than 10 min declined to recommend him for inpatient rehab (he has been to Emory Decatur acute twice and they worked absolute wonders with him) because "the strange environment would be confusing and he would be better doing rehab at home."
