Dr El Hamamsy and team is absolutely the place for any aortic valve operation. Dr El Hamamsy deliberately walked me through all my options and backed each one with data and evidence. He is also the best person to talk with; empathetic, nice, and caring, Dr El Hamamsy is the complete package. Ultimately we set up a prioritized order for operation type (correction, Ross, bioprostetic) and I went in with the confidence that he will do his best to accomplish the least invasive that would give me long term outcomes. Dr. El- Hamamsy is an excellent surgeon. I met with him before I had to have open heart surgery again and he explained the Ross procedure to me. He has a great energy to him and he is very calming as well. I was very nervous and upset since I’ve already had open heart surgery to replace my aortic valve, and the valve was failing. He was able to put me at ease and explained the success of the Ross procedure. In addition, he explained that they found something else while they were operating and were able to fix it. He made me feel hopeful. His whole team is great, he was able to operate on me as soon as he could and his team worked with me. I recently had a large aneurysm of the ascending aorta repaired by Dr. El-Hamamsy. Once leaning of my condition, he met with me after hours for our pre-operative consultation and scheduled my surgery on very short notice, fitting me in among other surgeries that had been scheduled for months.The surgery was a complete success and his compassion and professionalism were top notch. His staff (including Leemor, who handled logistics), and the surgeons on his team, Drs. Chen and Williams, were great as well. I highly recommend Dr. El-Hamamsy and his team for aortic surgery.
