“I haven’t thought of that.” — Dr. Heller, when asked if he would continue caring for my children. After dropping me as a patient via voicemail on the morning of my appointment, that his own office staff scheduled, Dr. Heller offered no advance notice, no discussion, and no follow-up — just a curt dismissal and silence from the front desk while I stood in his lobby for nearly an hour. When I later asked whether he intended to continue seeing my children — who had also been under his care — he paused and said: “I haven’t thought of that.” That’s all you need to know about the depth of his professional reflection, his view of continuity of care, and his regard for the families he treats. If you’re looking for a provider who is thoughtful, transparent, and communicative — keep looking. M

Dr. Kaufman is the rare doctor who listens and takes time to look at the whole person, rather than just playing a game of whack-a-mole with symptoms as so many other doctors have done with me. I appreciate both her knowledge and her compassionate approach to health care. I have never had to wait more than a few minutes, which is impressive considering the amount of time she gives me at each appointment. We feel very fortunate to have our whole family (adults and kids) under her care.

Highly disappointed. Dr. Paula was very dismissive and at times just rude. She kept asking “what is my role with you” as I have multiple doctors and specialists (I was looking to switch functional doctors at that time, which she was aware of). I asked her about a specific medication increase and she doubted my knowledge, after reviewing it with her more seasoned colleague, she confirmed the information I already shared with her. I was hoping to find a doctor willing to work with me instead of me having to work with another doctor’s ego.

My family adores dr. Kaufman. She gives you as much time as you needs in her appointments. She is compassionate, and I have never left her office feeling insecure in our treatment plans. As a parent, she has empowered me to feel informed while making decisions regarding my children. Dr. Kaufman truly goes above and beyond.

I can't speak positively enough about the practice and Dr. Dakroub/Kaufman specifically. Someone recommended them as being LGBT-positive after I had some horrible experiences at UofM, and while discrimination is never good, I'm glad it ended up leading me here. They have consistently gone above and beyond, in all my experiences from basic mental and physical wellness to disability to family planning. I have never been dismissed, everything is explained to me, and we have always been able to have a conversation about my care. I wish all practices and doctors were like what they have here.
