Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center at NYU Langone

I came here for two weeks to train in intestinal ultrasound. What I didn’t realize is that NYU IBD center is very well run, delivering state of the art care to its patients. The staff including the providers are very kind and knowledgeable. The facilities are brand new. What I love is the patient centered feel. It is rare to be able to get your doctor appointment, lab, ultrasound and infusion all in one office! Kudos to the NYU team.

Changed my life. I switched here because I was having a terrible flare up and my last doctor seemed unconcerned and wouldn't make any changes to my medication. I started seeing Dr. Holmer and she has been fantastic. She got right to helping me figure out a medication that works for me and had continued to be proactive and involved. All the nurses and techs have also been extremely kind and remember me each time I come in for my infusion. This place has made a huge positive impact on my life.

The doctors here are great but one of the front desk receptionists is a nightmare. She is extremely rude and gives you attitude every time. She clearly hates her job and projects that hate on you. At the beginning of 2026, I gave her my new insurance card. I also asked her clearly whether or not my new insurance is accepted here. She just snapped at me and barked yes, without checking. A couple days later, I got an enormous bill for my appointment. This is ridiculous. I don’t know if she failed to add my insurance or if this office does not accept my new insurance. Now I have a big mess to clean up and possibly a crazy bill to pay. ALL of this could have been avoided if this lady just did her job, by checking and adding my insurance card. This is my 3rd stop in my UC life experience.. my past drs became hard to get in touch with or took a unreasonable amount of time to change treatment that would better aid me in my UC symptoms. A friend referred me to NYU and I was lucky enough to get a appt with Dr. Chang. She although not my dr from the very beginning of my UC diagnosis, listened to my entire history and understood that I was in a bad place. I was given treatment and care with post-haste. She understood I was suffering and needed help. Not only is she helping me treat my symptoms, her goal is full remission and eventually find a more permanent treatment/solution that does not require medication and something I can be comfortable with. Drs. Chang (GI care) and Gerson (psychology) provide excellent care for IBD patients. Dropping one star for now for the IBD Center's frequent billing issues. For even a routine visit, expect one bill for physician services and another for hospital services (since this is billed as part of Tisch hospital). It's unreasonably pricey even with insurance, so you'll probably need to contact the NYU billing team once you receive the bill(s) to handle it. Hopefully these billing issues will be properly resolved soon.
