Incline Village Community Hospital

People seem to have a hit or miss experience here, but honestly I don't think the "misses" are fair. People focus on three negatives and we'll break them down. Firstly, if you're in a state outside your health insurance, then any service that uses it is considered out of state. For example, we live in California and since we are in Nevada it's considered out of network. Also, every ER sends two bills because the doctors are contacted, so you are billed separately. Lastly, the disclosure explains all of this information and they aren't hiding any "hidden fees" that any other hospital has. If you feel like the costs here are too high, then you are free to that opinion, but I feel like the service and accessibility makes the experience worth it. What a lovely hospital staffed with kind and talented staff! Had an ER visit while on vacation and received superb care from Nurse Liz and Dr. Segerstrom. Really nice people and on their game. Thank you for helping me and making me feel better and able to enjoy the rest of our vacation.

I had appendicitis (ended up having to be transferred to a bigger hospital to perform the surgery about 30 minutes away), and felt the staff here were so kind and patient with me while the situation unfolded. Thank you for doing your best to support me while I struggled with a lot of pain and uncertainty about my situation. I will forever think fondly of Incline Village Community Hospital.

My 89 y.o. grandmother came in with terrible mid back pain, they did a CT scan of the lower back only and would not prescribe any pain medication. She continued in pain for over a week, and they would not give her any pain meds, saying "take 2 ibuprofen". After asking for any pain medication they said we could come in for a "reevaluation". After weeks of dealing with pain and finally seeing a specialist, we found my grandmother had a fractured spine. At Incline, not only did they not scan her entire spine for the issue, they would not give her any pain medication at all. It is unbelievable that these doctors would be so careless investigating their diagnosis as well as so unwilling to help an an elderly woman mitigate chronic pain. I use IVCH/Tahoe Forrest because of the wonderful care I have receive since 2008. My primary physician(s): Dr. Ferrari and Dr. Koch work together and communicate extremely effectively. I have had to visit the ER several times and the staff is polite and caring. And because I talk a lot they ALL listen a lot.
