My 12 and 1/2 year old German Shepherd was having issues with arthritis in her hind legs. Following an exam of the entire dog and discussion with me, Hunter Mill’s doctor gave my shepherd an injection of Librela that seems to have given my dog new life and energy. Her arthritis issues are greatly reduced. We highly recommend this veterinary clinic and Librela. My 12 1/2 year old dog can now play and enjoy life better than last week prior to the injection. I’m told that the positive effects should last for about 30 days. We will be back next month for another injection.

This is the best veterinary practice we’ve been to. Dr. Caldwell is very knowledgeable and you can just tell that she loves her job. She treats the pets really well and cares for them. The staff calls us to check on our dog after our visits. We’re very glad that we can bring our dog here.

Long-time customers here. We can't imagine better care than what our dogs have received since 1999 thru today. Hunter Mill Animal hospital is the best. From the pleasant and professional front desk staff, to the techs, doctors, management, and everyone in between. In 25 years we've received nothing but top notch, intelligent, compassionate, prompt service from HMAH. They've competently and successfully treated our pets for a range of conditions from neutering to Lyme Disease to seizures to injuries to Vestibular Syndrome and more. The follow up calls and after care are just as great as the office visits. We can't thank them enough for making our pets and us feel cared for and important. Bottom line - Make an appointment. You'll be glad you did.

What a pleasure! I can't speak more highly of Hunter Mill Animal Hospital. Dr. Caldwell is a great vet and always very caring and attentive with my dog and the staff are always very friendly and easy to work with. She is intelligent, honest, straightforward and reasonably priced - a rare thing in NOVA. I've had pets my whole life and there seems to be a trend in the veterinary industry toward over diagnosing, over testing, over prescribing and just plain overselling. Dr. Caldwell has given our dog great care when needed but is also inclined to take more of a wait and see approach with our and our friend's pets that I have referred to her whereas other vets will gladly coax you into spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on unnecessary tests and specialist referrals and treatments. I don’t leave reviews often but I cannot emphasize what a wonderful experience this vet is. Wendy, at the front desk, is absolutely delightful and cares deeply for each animal that enters that place. The vet, Dr. Caldwell, is high energy, deeply knowledgeable, and “brings you along for the ride.” I’ve been dealing with a very sick rescue (my absolute baby) and they have handled each situation with practicality, expertise, and tender care. If you are thinking about joining this vet or switching… do it. Cannot recommend enough!
