Hilltop Pharmacy

I’ve lived in Washington Heights for years and have been coming to Hilltop Pharmacy on Fort Washington with my young daughter for about 3 years. We live nearby and I’ve spent hundreds of dollars there on toys, books, and small gifts for her. The staff has always been kind and welcoming, which is why we enjoyed stopping in. However, over the last several months the manager or owner (an older woman) has made our visits increasingly uncomfortable. Without fail, every time we walk in she immediately approaches me and asks “Can I help you?” in a way that feels less like customer service and more like we are being watched and not welcome. Love this pharmacy—excellent customer service with a personal touch! Staff is kind and efficient (they go the extra mile on advice and refills), quick turnaround, and convenient for everyday needs. Clean and welcoming. Minor minus for occasional short waits when packed, but the caring vibe and reliability make up for it. Strong 4 stars—proud to have this Hilltop option!

Literally the Maibach of pharmacies. Aside from being super helpful with home deliveries, medicines and vaccinations (all are offered here!), the seasonal one-of-a-kind gifts, children’s toy corner and card selection fulfill every need you might have. All holidays are represented here with topical and creative presents, not to mention Hammond’s candy. The staff is welcoming and often leads me to the perfect purchase! If I could give ten stars, I would. Don’t walk, RUN to this delightful mom and pop for a truly neighborhood experience.

Generally nice people, but today I called to see if they had a walker and was told they did, though ordinarily they didn't stock, and they would hold it for me. I went in and no walker and the employee serving me walked away, not to check to see if it was there. My husband is coming out of the hospital and now I don't have what I was promised.

TLDR: If you like to feel bad about yourself, if you aren’t sure you really want your meds and live for the rush of them being lost or misplaced, if it gives you a little thrill to have the names of your medication announced as through a megaphone to the whole world, then I cannot recommend hilltop enough! To everyone else: What can I say: hilltop is adorable, it’s so well located, and in a world of corporate chains it’s locally owned! The problem is that the actual pharmacy is consistently terrible. I have had them lose my prescriptions multiple times and saw them chastise a pharmacist not for messing up but for telling me that that’s what happened. Prescriptions have taken up to a week to be filled, and the workers seem generally deeply apathetic, slow, and often unfriendly (and mind y
