If I can give this place no stars I will. This place needs better nurses and staff. My mother was in this facility for about 7 months the very first night my mom got here the nurses were super nice . After they all had nasty attitudes they had no manners whatsoever. My mom got six’s kids and all her six kids would do the job these nurse should’ve been doing. They never wanted to change my mother’s wet diapers they always had an excuse for it , for suction they would take an hour or more . They even teach my youngest sister how to do suction just so my mom won’t keep ringing the bell. They will always ignore the bell every time my mom would ring it . And there is soo much more to say about this place . But this place right here DONT do there job right. They don’t care about there patients h

This place looks presentable from outside however horrible staff. The staff is always at lunch or in meetings. The patients rooms always have a foul smell indicating the patients are not being clean in a timely manner. Doctors , Nurses and CNA's are not Professional instead they act on being Personal! Please do not have your love ones come to this Facility .

My experience in the Henry J. Carter Hospital and nursing home was one that traumatized me for the rest of my life. This place has incredibly big administrative failures that jeopardize the well-being of anyone who is in this institution. Many times, I felt I was in a chamber of horrors. I was left five hours dirty, sitting in my own feces, I was left for over four hours waiting for someone to feed me because I am disabled and it was impossible for me to do so on my own. My oxygen machine would go off and sometimes it would take as long as 35 minutes for a nurse to come and give me help with the oxygen I needed. The hospital is extremely understaffed, actually they are working on their minimum staff, most of the time one nurse and one CNA per floor on an average of 32 patients per floor.

I would never recommend this place to anyone with a loved one in any condition. My family member was admitted to the 4th floor ventilator unit to get weaned off, and from the start, it was a nightmare. The nurses were rude, dismissive, and completely unapproachable. Any time I tried to ask a question or get clarification from a doctor, it felt like I was being scolded just for wanting to understand what was going on. There was no compassion, no communication, and zero sense of urgency unless you were someone they personally liked. They rarely checked in on patients, and if you alerted them that a patient needed to be changed or was visibly uncomfortable, they’d act like you were bothering them. Sometimes they wouldn’t come back for two hours — and if a family member tried to step in and

It's not that bad. Big place lots of windows overlooking the park Ave metro north tracks . Most staff members are nice. The food for patients is pretty good. Healthy balance and they adjust the menu depending on the needs of the patient . They do censor the internet available. No gay chat sites. But I guess that's how it is in all city hospitals? They limit the number of people allowed into visit at one time to one person . I think that's not good . My friend has been there for almost 3 years and I visit almost everyday . People are good there .
