Dr. Interian is renowned for his experience with ablations. He teaches other doctors how to do ablations. But man, this guy does not care about his patients. He will fix your afib. But you better have a general cardiologist ready because he doesn’t care about anything that’s not in the ECG. “Your still having Chest pain after the ablation? Must be normal - the ECG is fine.” We heard this from the nurse practitioner and the doctor himself. Turns out, it was a common complication from ablations, pericarditis, that any reasonable cardiologist should have checked for. Instead my mom suffered for weeks unnecessarily until we finally got a general cardiologist. Also, be ready to wait for hours in the clinic before seeing him or his nurse. Dr. Interian may be renowned for ablations, but doing the procedure is only one part of being a doctor. He has terrible bedside manner and he doesn’t seem to actually care if his patients get better. Two weeks after my ablation I tell him I’m having chest pain and he says it’s normal. Six weeks after the ablation, I go back and I hear that “it can’t be the heart, the ECG is fine.” I tell them it could be pericarditis and they say basically that’s not their problem. That’s what the general cardiologist is for. Finally, I go to a general cardiologist 7 weeks after my ablation to finally start getting treatment for my pericarditis - which is as simple as a couple prescription meds. I had a wonderful experience today with both the nurse and the doctor. The nurse was welcoming, attentive, and made me feel very comfortable right from the start. The doctor was thorough, explained everything clearly, and truly took the time to listen. Together they provided excellent, compassionate care that exceeded my expectations.
