Hartzell Rupp Ophthalmology

This place was a life saver! My Husband and I spent over 9 hrs between patient first and the ER. He had a piece of metal in his eye and it was rusting, patient first recommended going to the ER because the metal had to come out, Harrisburg hospital had no one available to come in (no one would answer the calls) so after hours we got sent home. They wanted it to be removed within 24 hrs and we had to wait all weekend. We called this morning and they got us in first thing today! Highly recommend this place and it is one of the very few great medical places out there. Couldn’t be more pleased with the staff and professionalism.

Dr. Hartzell is very thorough and compassionate in her exams and surgery. However, I am adding that I think it is time for them to loosen their mask policy. Over this past year I have been seen by many different medical facilities and some places state that it is no longer mandatory to wear a mask. Others state still mandatory, however once inside and in the room with the doctors, they said I could remove my mask. The masks do not prevent the spread of COVID! Being vaccinated doesn’t prevent COVID or stop you from spreading the disease. Can we just get back to living our lives normally again? Plus mask wearing has increased eye infections.

Dr. Rupp is amazing. She cares about you as a person and not just a patient passing through. She was patient and kind with our child. She helped normalize the need to wear glasses. Our child wanted to try contacts and Dr. Rupp affirmed she seemed responsible enough to try them. Going to the eye doctor became a positive experience. Dr. Rupp patiently showed our child how to wear contacts and was positive through the experience. I highly recommend her.

I would not recommend this place if you don't have any patience to wait 40 minutes to be seen... This is ridiculous. They tell you 3:45 pm and is 4:24 pm almost 4:30 pm and still waiting wth... On top of that the receptionist will give you and attitude when you ask why is it taking so long!!!! Wait wait!!! Still writing!! It is official!! 1 hour wait!!!!! Cont' 445 pm finally we were able to see the medical assistance... 520pm finally we saw the Doctor.. 552pm still here

Insensitive to age-related hearing issues. Rude and argumentative. Taking my business and a few others elsewhere.
