I feel obligated to warn other families about our experience. From the moment we walked in, The facility smelled strongly of feces, on my mother’s first night, I saw dry feces on the door in the restroom, The curtains next to her soiled of what looked like bodily fluids. Basic hygiene supplies like wipes not available- staff were using damp paper towels instead. Mom came in late, so I asked if they had a sandwich anything Nurses reply this isn’t a hospital. My mother also reported that her roommate fully dependent on staff would only be changed once a day leaving her sitting in feces for hours. Most concerning, The facility failed to provide my mother with her prescribed antibiotic for two weeks. Her hospital doctor stated she could not reach the facility staff. This experience was deeply

Harborview Decatur Skilled Nursing Facility exceeded my expectations and was truly an answer to my prayers. My older sister is a US Veteran living in Georgia, who required short-term skilled nursing and rehabilitative care following a partial foot amputation. Her VA social worker provided me with a list of eight VA-contracted facilities (with the potential for long term care) located in the Atlanta area. I was immediately distraught because I have seen and heard so many horror stories about abuse and neglect involving nursing facilities, especially government contracted ones. It was not financially feasible to relocate my sister closer to me on the west coast, so naturally I was terrified at the thought of having her so far away and expected the worst possible scenario. However, upon comp

My experience at Harborview Decatur has been deeply disappointing. What was supposed to be a 21‑day stay turned into only 5 days. I expected professionalism, structure, and genuine support, but what I encountered felt disorganized and indifferent. Communication between staff members was inconsistent, leaving patients confused about basic expectations such as therapy schedules and meal times. Several staff members appeared overwhelmed or uninterested, and it showed in the quality of care. The environment itself didn’t feel therapeutic. While cleanliness was acceptable, the atmosphere was chaotic rather than calming. Instead of feeling supported in recovery, my loved one felt like just another number being pushed through a system that wasn’t functioning well. What makes this even more conc

During one of my visits to my father’s room, I encountered a disturbing situation involving the housekeeping supervisor. She entered the room smelling strongly of marijuana and, when I addressed it, she simply responded, “my bad.” This behavior is unacceptable and raises questions about whether proper background checks or drug testing are being conducted. I am at the facility frequently, and I can confidently say that many employees display unprofessional behavior and inappropriate language around residents and visitors. I strongly believe an investigation into management practices and employee conduct is warranted. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter. I hope these concerns will be taken seriously and addressed promptly.

This facility needs Work in order to be considered a overall nice place to care for your love ones. The staff is not bad but appears to be over worked. With that said, it allows the level of care to be poor. My husband had an 11 day visit for Physical Therapy only. Out of 11 days he received only half of that less than 1 hour visits at best. I came to visit and found he was laying in his poop and still took 2 hours to come clean and change him. The Physical therapy he received could have been handled at home. Being at this facility was a waste of time and could have been dangerous to his care
