I am writing this letter in hope of healing and moving on with my life. I had hernia surgery last year towards the end of January; so it has been one year since the surgery. My life has not been the same. My quality of life has drastically declined. During the 8 months I had to wait leading up to the surgery, I was very very uneasy about having the procedure done via “open surgery.” I set up a variety of different meetings, in person and over the phone, BEGGING to have the procedure done via laparoscopic to reduce the chance of nerve damage. Every time I was refused. My pleas were not heard. I even went so far as canceling the surgery, but I was told that I either had to go to the ER to have it done, or if I wanted the specialist to do it, I had to have it done their way. I am in

I believe the hospital should be made aware of the rudeness and unprofessional treatment displayed by Dr. Makhinson, a psychiatrist at Harbor-UCLA. My son was hospitalized at Harbor-UCLA for five months and required ECT procedures, in which Dr. Makhinson was involved. The first time I spoke with him was when my son was refusing ECT treatment. During that interaction, Dr. Makhinson was extremely impatient, frustrated, and showed little consideration for my son’s mental state or our family’s emotional situation. This was particularly distressing, as I work in the medical field myself and understand the importance of compassion, especially in psychiatric care. Witnessing this behavior toward my son was devastating. The second interaction was even more concerning, as Dr. Makhinson spoke to me

I received substandard care at this Hospital. First I had to wait a very long time before I saw anyone. Secondly when I finally was brought into a room and eventually saw a dr, she asked me some questions and later after getting some results came back in and said everything looks fine and proceeded to give me three serial breathing treatments and two antibiotics via intravenous. I had to ask her to come back in because I did not think to tell her about a prior medical condition that affected my current situation. Upon leaving the ER the following day I had been given no food until finally I asked and received a sandwich with water and cookies and applesauce. Upon reviewing the discharge instructions, they contained contradictory information and a number of low findings on laboratory work

5th pregnancy and 1st time I went to a hospital that was more focused on making sure a pregnant woman didn’t receive treatment from labor and delivery than actually helping her! Rude staff treated me like I was lying. Refused to let my legal HUSBAND stay with me. Is this new where hospitals let pregnant women sit in the waiting area what if I am having a miscarriage. But hey thank you I heard my babies heart beat and found out how far along I am. Still don’t know why I’m losing 10lbs a week, still starving and dehydrated, but a the most important thing a pregnant woman was not scene in your l and d and the nurses still got to walk around with only 2 pts

Wait times are actually ridiculous. Staff just gossips while ur waiting and u can overhear them laughing over patients wait times. Been here over 7-8 hours in ER. It is not ER they do not treat it like any emergency just wasting ur time. Lobby is full of homeless ppl sleeping on seats u can’t even sit down calmly without one of them bothering you. they need to fix this… disappointing don’t even care how sleep deprived u are to drive back home just make fun of it.
