Giant Pharmacy

Winnie Yau is the absolute best. Been the most courteous and the best staff in Giants pharmacy. Anyone that has been through covid years know how hectic it was. I go out of my way past montgomery county to go here.

Been taking care of my father for past 2 weeks. He uses Giant Pharmacy. I’ve had to come several times to pick up prescriptions for him. First time I came they said his prescription would be ready at noon. They didn’t fill it till 3pm. Second time same thing. Third time I had him call and verify it was ready before I went. They verified it was ready and low and behold it was not. Made me wait another 30 minutes. Now I’m here a 4th time I personally called to check if ready and they verified it would be ready at 12. I show up at 1pm and it’s not ready again and I’m sitting around. Consistently waste my time. 1 person working counter with line of 6-7 people. Poorly managed and poor communication.

I am grateful for the Giant Pharmacy in Clarksville, MD. My wife and I live nearby, and we shop in the Giant and fill all of our prescriptions there. The staff are always helpful, and our prescriptions are always available for pick up very soon after the prescription is sent. The staff, on numerous occasions, have “gone the extra mile” to assist us when issues like drug availability arise. We get all of our vaccinations at this pharmacy and these events have always been good experiences, with minimal wait time and shots administered by kind and caring individuals. I will mention the exceptional service by one individual. It seems that Maryjean is usually working the register when my wife or I pick up prescriptions at this pharmacy. Without a doubt the most incompetent pharmacy. I was sitting with my doctor when he called pharmacy and left the message for my prescription. The staff proceeded to tell me he had the wrong number. I recited the pharmacy number from memory and said "is that yours?" Pharmacist said "yes, but we don't have anything on file." So the apathetic staff decided to check their messages and found the prescription and told me it would be a 30 minute wait after their mistake. Prescription was 1 pill by mouth x 2 daily for 10 days. Prescription was put in at 9:27am and I went to pick it up at 10:48. If you want your medicine in a timely manner without waiting forever, I would go elsewhere. It seems like the staff is far worse here over the past 10 years.

Forever wait times and rude. High turnover. Say they have curbside pickup via text message. Then, refuse to honor it Switching to CVS which has drive thru pickup
