Gentiva Hospice

We have issues with getting supplies weekly. No one takes accountability. They promise I'll get them but we run out weekly and there is always a delay. There is also no consistency with nurse visits. We are not informed when the nurse will not be coming. I informed them about a skin tear last week Friday and this Monday. Still no nurse has been out. There is no accountability and no one seems to be in charge. When I complain they just say I'm sorry but the cycle continues. I thought hospice was supposed to be the best of the best but so far not. My husband is on decline and sleeps most of the time. I'm trying to advocate for him but feel like I'm alone in this. The weekend and on call nurses can't help with my issues. They just say I'm on-call there's nothing I can do. I'll just p

The hospice coordinator, Hallidee Hunt, will always be remembered for her loving kindness, patience, and compassion during his end of life care. She gave of her time to not only provide valuable information but listened and gently responded to stories of my dad’s life. Hallidee’s guidance and presence felt as if we were wrapped in a warm blanket of emotional support. The nurse she assigned to his specific daily care also exhibited much kindness during my dad’s care. Our family has used Gentiva Hospice 2 times, once for my 100 year old uncle and now, for my 92 year old aunt. Without hesitation we have been more than pleased with Gentiva Hospice. I frequently call Hallidee my earthly angel. I have shared many beautiful souls with her as their healthcare needs transitioned to comfort measures. The hardest part oncology for me is to relinquish care of my patients. Hallidee has been such a blessing in keeping me informed of their status, which eases some of my own grief.
