I really want to take this time to SINCERELY THANK DR. PORTOCARRERO. What Dr. PortoCarrero did for me was amazing. Ive been to several GI doctors and all they did is prescribe me protonix. My symptoms never went away and pleaded for an Endoscopy. For some unknown reason they had an issue doing it. What Dr. PortoCarrero did was simply not judge me. I want to start by saying that Dr. Portocarrero is an exceptional healthcare provider - their expertise and care are top-notch. However, my experience was significantly marred by the rude and unprofessional staff. I was scheduled for an 11:30 appointment and was still waiting at 12:00. When I asked the receptionist for an update, I was met with an eye-roll and a dismissive attitude. There was no apology for the wait or effort to make me feel valued as a patient. While the Nurse Practitioner care made a positive impact, the staff's behavior was unacceptable and made the overall experience frustrating. Hopefully, the office will work on improving their customer service skills.
