Fox Subacute at Mechanicsburg

Had my girlfriend transferred here from another facility. Since talking to different staff members, all of them have had the same concern for her care in their speech and actions. They took their time talking to us, asking and answering questions. Even listening to our concerns about the other faculty. 48 hrs in and have already had a Care Conference. The place is very clean, almost hospital like. The equipment that I have seen is all up to date. Right now, I give them a 10+ in every area. I will update a month or so in to show how they have been. If I could give this a negative amount of stars I would. Please do not send your family members here. They screwed up when my Dad was admitted and never did the therapy he was supposed to receive. We filed a complaint with the state, which came back showing the lack of record keeping and lack of care. Magically a request for someone else to review this a second time came back that they now found their records. My dad left without being weaned at all, yet had started the process before he came to Fox, and when he was admitted back to the hospital was able to continue. It’s amazing how in a hospital setting he could be weaned, but for a facility who supposedly specializes in this, they couldn’t seem to help him. Multiple PEOPLE DIED IN 7 DAYS My mother was transferred to Fox and they absolutely do not care about their patients at all. She contracted staff infection from their dirty facility and they barely even payed attention to her. The staff became a medical emergency and If my dad was not there she would not even be alive. The doctor refused to come see her when she was having long lasting seizures (due to the infection in her blood). This facility is dirty, old, and terrible. They don’t even have anywhere close to enough staff to take care of patients. There administration does not care about their patients at all. Any hospital that would send a patient to Fox in Mechanicsburg does not care about their patients.

If I could give a 0, I would. My father was sent here for rehab and to be weaned from the ventilator. We had a meeting and they told us all they would do for him. They found no time to give him PT, only the weekend person would attempt at weaning him from the vent. When I would visit, if he requested needing the urinal, the nurses would hang out at the desk until he couldn't hold it any longer, then make him wait and just change him. He had a bedsore, that of course would never heal because he was not changed often enough. It's absolutely disheartening to see how they ignore patients. I am sure they are short staffed but that is no excuse. The RT who works during the week was very rude and did not like being questioned or having to look in his charge for the times he was off the

My husband was transferred down there from up in Bethlehem, and I have nothing but great raves about how he was treated taken care of letting me guide the staff with what I wanted with him, and they were very obliged by doing all that, and the communication was awesome. I would definitely recommend this place to anybody And right now. There’s a good chance. My husband may be coming home real soon, which is our goal and hopefully they can get the trick out so this way he can transfer to a different facility to get his legs strong so he can come home to me and our daughter, but I highly recommend this place
