Fast Pace Health Urgent Care - Winchester - KY

If I was rating only the service I received once I was with the healthcare providers, that would have been a 5 star. Meghan and the vitals nurse were great - kind, professional, compassionate and thorough. My rating dropped because of the lack of staffing in the facility. I understand that it’s a tough time of year but there was only ONE provider in the building that day to see ALL of the patients coming in - many left because of the insane wait time. My wait was just about 3 hours - total of around 4 hours for the entire appointment. And I didn’t like the illusion of having an “appointment time” when I signed in online only to find when I get to the appointment that the time just saved me a spot and didn’t guarantee me being seen at that time. Very frustrating to a sick person.

The staff is great. The doctors and nurses are great. The only bad experience I ever have and I don’t know the fix but I just want you to know about it is whenever you schedule an appointment there ought to be some way that you’re seen close to that appointment time. Either there is a separate section for a walk-ins or it is disclosed to them. You will have to get in line behind appointments if not, just do away with appointments. For example, where I get my haircut you make an appointment someone is a walk-in. They are second in line but if the appointment time comes up, they immediately go to third in line. My four-year old son and I had a HORRIBLE experience at the Winchester, KY location. I made an appointment for him hoping to get a prescription to ease his vomiting as I feared dehydration. After arriving and checking in On Time, we sat in the waiting room full of coughing people, only one of who was kind enough to wear a mask. We were continually assured we were next in line, but waited two hours. I struggled with if we should leave, but knew how much he needed a prescription until we could get in to his pediatrician the next day. The receptionist went to check in the back to see how much longer, then returned to say there were multiple empty rooms but she was told by the nursing staff they were waiting on test results and would not fill them. I was able to schedule an appointment ahead of time which was great (no waiting in the lobby). All of the staff were incredibly kind, efficient and thorough. They went above and beyond to help treat my symptoms !and even gave me information for necessary follow up testing & care. Best experience I’ve ever had at an urgent care clinic.

I had an appointment for my son and we waited over an hour to be seen. He was feeling horrible and vomited in the floor. This is the first I was handed papertowels to clean it up myself. They didnt have any cleaner. I asked if they had Lysol spray to at least disinfect it. Which they did have and I sprayed every where. Other than the wait an that it was a good visit. Everyone was sweet and compassionate towards my son. I would recommend but there will be a wait.
