ER - Marshfield Medical Center-Weston

On Saturday, January 31, at around 3:30 A.M, I was seen at the Weston ER due to having extreme pain in my back. I went to the ER thinking I had a kidney infection. They took a urine test from me, took blood, and gave me a chest X-ray. During the blood draw, the nurse, (who was male) must have put the IV in my arm too deep or incorrectly, because I could not move my arm without it hurting very bad. Once all of my tests and labs came back, the Doctor told me that it was PROBABLY something musculoskeletal, maybe a muscle spasm from sleeping weird. I knew it wasn't just a muscle spasm. I was discharged and told to go home and take Ibuprofen or Tylenol. Not even 72 hours later, I woke up with the same pain that I was having on Saturday morning. Although the wait was very long (2 hours,but they did say it would be that long when we checked in), once I was seen care was very good. Nurses David and Ray worked to help me feel as comfortable as possible and did their best to manage symptoms. I felt like the PA really listened to me and asked questions to clarify and get more information. Also radiology was friendly and got images quickly.

This place deserves 0 stars! The reception seemed annoyed, but did his job. I came in with chest pain, I have had a prior heart attack, the nurse did not know what hfpef was, I chose going here since they are considered a hospital that has cardiology. The nurse did not know what a SCAD was, the Dr. and nurse proceeded to tell me that I did not have a past heart attack, because it was an artery in my heart that dissected, and a dissection is not a heart attack. ( Google this, shaking my head) The Dr. Did not know you would not typically stent a dissection because they heal in their own, for the most part. Without a stent, it really wasn't a heart attack in his eyes. They did not ask my history, they only knew a little bit of my heart history because the Dr. Said oh you said you have a card

Maybe doctors shouldn't tell patients who just told them they've taken a full bottle of Tylenol in the past week cause the pain is so severe to "buy another bottle" Just a thought. Makes a person in excruciating pain pretty hopeless. People with no hope and no faith do solve pretty permanently crazy things. As doctors you should know that.

Marshfield Clinic will always have my heart. Check in at the front desk was pleasant, Sera was very sweet. The rooms are comfortable, private and spacious. My EMT/Nurse Caleb was incredible. He was so kind, helpful, understanding and sympathetic. He also did an amazing job on my IV which most struggle with. My nurse for my CT scan was very professional, personable & respectful. My Dr was also great. They didn’t rush me out, he genuinely took the time to look for answers in testing and asked questions while answering all of mine. He took care to my concerns and printed out paperwork that would be helpful to me after leaving. Overall my experience was great, thank you all so much. I couldn’t have asked for a better team tonight.
