East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center

Recently, I fractured my femur and spent two and a half weeks here. The care I received was outstanding. The physical and occupational therapists I worked with were excellent. My room was cleaned spotless everyday. The aides were exceptional, helping me wash and take showers, and helping me dress until I could do it unassisted. The meals were great with different choices to pick from, daily. On my day of discharge, it was hard saying goodbye to my newly found "friends"

My father was just discharged from this facility after a three week stay. While there, he received excellent care full of compassion and respect. The PT and OT staff were excellent, and each worked with him once a day, giving him two therapy sessions per day. From the aides to the administration, we felt that each person was personally invested in the care of my father. Having read other reviews, it was shocking to see what people were saying. Those experiences were so far from what we had. I would highly recommend this facility and I commend the staff for the care they give their patients.

What can I say, nice looking on the outside but a different story on the inside. I will say the nurses on the first floor were very professional, kind and caring. As well as some of the CNA’s. However some of the CNA’s definitely don’t have EMPATHY! They also seemed to always be short staffed with CNA’s. My relative was left waiting many times for over a half hour to be changed. There was no consistency in the meal schedule and weekends were even worse. The food was mediocre at best and lukewarm most times. As someone said to me ”When you’re in a Rehab, your meal is what you look forward to the most.” I have to say I was not impressed with the Social Services department at all. My relative was there for over 6 weeks and we were only given one Care Plan Meeting within the first two weeks. A

My dad went there to basically die, he never woke up and I believe he was heavily sedated, didn't last a couple days. He was butt naked one day and when we asked for a blanket they just threw it on him, no compassion as all. I would give them zero stars but not an option.

Most of the staff here is great! However, IKEA, I think her name is, is a real piece of work. She is rude to patients and to staff and in my opinion should not be allowed around patients. I hope something is done about this
