I was a regular customer here for years. Not any more. For some reason they decided to ruin two frames when I got new lenses recently. Several trips back to get the frames adjusted and my frames are still not the way they were before getting new lenses. They used to be a high quality store with exceptional customer service, but not any more. They have lost my business forever.

I was visiting NY and this was near my hotel. I saw "Opticians since 1875" and could not believe it. Yes, they are the oldest in NYC. Respect. Absolute Professionals. Old School. Best of the Best. Bravo to my Optometrist "Julia" (and Mark) who made everything very special indeed. One feels very well treated here! My order went in on Tuesday and I got my new glasses Fed'exed to the mountains of Western Nevada by Monday morning. Astonishing! There's a reason why the business has been around for 150 years!

The BEST selection of kids' specs! I was shocked when I found out my three year old could barely see out of his right eye - I had no idea what to expect regarding glasses. EB Meyrowitz was so helpful and their glasses are really something special. My son has a pair of handcrafted glasses from Germany, which can't be purchased anywhere else in NYC! It's good to have a neighborhood place like this and not a huge chain.

Came upon this shop by chance. It is wonderful with an amazing array of beautiful, out of the ordinary frames, which is what I was looking for. So many shops look the same. Nick helped me and he was great. He was able to suggest best for my look and my prescription which is strong. Very prompt service in receiving my new glasses. Very happy!

It’s rare these days to come across a beautiful little store that isn’t one of the big chains and believes in personalized service. Nick was incredibly helpful, really kind and would absolutely recommend them to anyone!
