Recently had a liver biospy guided by radiology. The procedure was delayed some by the fact 2 of the scanners were down and there was a back up of patients. The procedure itself was fine, the nurse that provided the sedative was attentive and quick to respond to questions. It was her only job in the surgury. The nurses were polite and good at their jobs. The doctors were professional and talked to me about what they would do, making sure I was aware of the possible complications, then I had to sign the forms. The procedure was quick and mostly stress free. The only problem I had was severe pain afterward and i felt that the doctors didnt take it seriously enough, and prescibed a mild pain releaver that didnt work well. They did give me something else and that took care of the pain. I was r
I recently had a lumbar puncture and myelogram at Duke radiology to check for a CSF leak. I have had debilitating symptoms of one for years. As any normal person would understand, having untreated symptoms for years will cause someone to act normally through the pain as constantly crying and moaning for that long would be insane. However, the radiologist told me that since there was no obvious sign of a leak on my scan and that my symptoms were really just mild, I should not get any treatment. He would not even discuss treatment options. He also claimed another reason I don’t need any treatment or further testing is because I don’t have Chiari Malformation, even though I’ve been diagnosed with it, and did not give any explanation as to why he was so sure my former radiologist and neurologi
I am so done with Duke University Hospital after loosing my kidney I've had nothing but issues with my health. I expected so much from Duke vs me seeing doctors here in Charlotte. The PA will just write up anything and the doctor will sign off on it without looking over it. I'm currently still in severe pain with other issues. Maybe one day I'll find a doctor that can figure out what's going on with me unfortunately its not no one at Duke.
I had two procedures at Duke Radiology. I was told by Duke Hospital financial department that they had contacted my insurance company and they had approved the treatment at in network levels After the procedure I received the $18,000+ bills and discovered Duke Health had not filled out the provider form for gap coverage ( which would lead to the exception to out of network) . Bottom line is even a premier hospital like Duke will not look after the patient’s financial interest and their employee are not properly trained.
I have nothing but positive things to say about the professionalism, promptness and expertise of the Duke Radiology group. Thank you for all you do and all you have done for us.
