Duke Specialty Pharmacy

Great people work here but the low rating is strictly towards Duke in general and how they make it harder and harder for patients with needs to access their medicines. They used to be able to bring the meds out curbside so you could just grab it and go. Now you have to either drive around and bring someone else with you to go inside and grab it or park, WAY FAR and walk inside to get it. ZERO logic of changing the old system other than $$$! They want those parking fees!

The staff is very helpful and informative.

The medical staff was awesome and I'm hoping to have all of my medical needs taken care of at Duke. I would recommend the specialty pharmacy and the hospital itself to anyone. It's a mini trip everytime I have to go, but having experienced the worst care possible at Cape Fear Medical Center and it being the only place available in Cumberland County to go for medical care, I will gladly make that drive to Duke!!

I had to reach out to them for medication after a new referral and every time I speak with the staff I get a different story. I am not sure why they don't reach out to patients to explain the procedures and processes.

This place saves my life on a monthly basis. I continue to come here because I trust them more than CVS or some other big retail chain with my immune suppressants BUT they simply MUST do something about the front customer service area. It's an embarrassment for Duke Cancer Center to have one employee working the front. The line get so long and these aren't people that are picking up Motrin or a quick laxative. These are transplant patients and people on chemo and radiation therapy. There are three windows and i rarely ever see more than one person working. For a place like Duke...this is a terrible way to treat their patients.
