Duke Regional Hospital

I had knee replacement surgery and wanted to mention how much I appreciated the nurses who took care of me. My night nurse was Michell the traveling nurse and she was terrific, my day nurse was Morgan and she was terrific also. I know my stay was only one night but these two nurses made that stay as good as they possibly could. Everyone I came in contact with was pleasant and professional.

It a shame how I don't live in this town but came to duke for treatment and waited over 3 hours and still not seen. Need more doctors and nurses I understand non emergency u have to wait but just because of that no need for them to keep folk in a waiting room for over 3 hours that insane n need to be reported. Doctor n nurse I noticed talking a lot to staff while patient is in a room jus there n other patients in waiting area need to be seen this is plain insane and service definitely need to be upgraded

Had surgery a few weeks ago. Everyone was great and caring. The pre-op appointment was very good and the doctor even reached out after to make sure I had what I needed. Day of surgery was easy. Simple check-in process. They started on time, even joking that they had 30 seconds to get me on the operating table. They also told me jokes on the way in and gave me extra blankets because anesthesia gives me the chills. The only thing to be aware of is that they start early. For some reason they don't give you a time until the afternoon before, but assume it will be early morning with arrival before 6am.

Frustrated is a kind word at this point. Our mother had her gallbladder removed here 2 weeks ago. Fantastic experience with it. The nurses & staff with that procedure were spot on. Our mother had terrible back pains sunday 1/18 / monday 1/19... we took her to our local hospital since we live 4 hours from duke regional. They corresponded with duke and decided to fly her ( by airplane) back here for continued care. The rest of us drove here late Tuesday night to arrive when she did. Multiple testing was done thru the emergency room. They suspect she has a cyst pocket filled with infection near the gallbladder removal area. We were admitted to the hospital and I could not be more satisfied at every level of care. Dr Ike and the liver specialist team were amazing with us. The nursing staff were amazing. I’ve been in hospitals were the nursing staff seemed less than capable especially since 2020. The staff at Duke are 100% top notch.
