Duke Health Center South Durham

The personnel at Duke is nice and knowledgeable but Duke as a corporation gets worse every year. Appointments are hard to get (e.g. for children month in advance), they cancel on the same day, and let you wait. More often than I want I end up using urgent care (and then this visit is not in your file with Duke). If you call them they let you run through the AI agent. Even if you try to talk to an agent they simply hang up on you. It is awesome that this "non-profit" has killed all the competition and we are kind of stuck with them in Durham. Again, people there are good but company is bad.

Some of the nurses here are really bad at getting veins/blood work. I have special veins where you can’t see them but I have one good vein. They don’t put hot compression on you, or no ball to squeeze to make it noticeable like other clinics. They dig around my vein and stab me… this upsets me. This place is the worst at drawling blood. I warn nurses beforehand I have hard veins to find. They all act nervously and hurting me.

This building is really beautiful and has a lot of specialities.. They gave a parking deck where you can park for free.. We went for a ENT appointment and check in was really easy and did not have a wait at all.. Nurse called in immediately. They were the front desk. Staff were really friendly and answered whatever questions we had. We met the doctor Chang, he did a good job, but felt he could’ve spent a little more time.. he was very clear and explaining the questions we asked.. He recommended for audiology test and we were able to get an appointment in the next two days .. so that was pretty good experience to.. Wish they could come the doctors appointment and audiology test on the same day so you can save a trip .. Overall, our experience has been good.

Excellent healthcare. Great service everything from reception, to the nurses, to the doctors and staff.

My appointment today was in Otolaryngology but I also have care providers at Duke Rheumatology and Duke Eye Center also in this same building. Lots of handicapped parking spots near entrance. Easy on and off I-40 to Fayetteville St then about a block to Crooked Creek Pkwy. I always get excellent care at Duke Clinic.
